Plot

Set in the 1940's, during Japanese occupation of South Korea. Story follows Jung So-Yool (Han Hyo-Joo), who is a gisaeng and dreams of becoming the best singer, Seo Yeon-Hee (Chun Woo-Hee), who is also a gisaeng and So-Yool’s best friend and top songwriter/producer Kim Yoon-Woo (Yoo Yeon-Seok).

Filming began June 21, 2015 and finished October 17, 2015.

Korean title “Haeuhhwa" means "beautiful woman" and also "gisaeng."

Three lead performers (Han Hyo-Joo, Yoo Yeon-Seok, Chun Woo-Hee) previously worked together in 2015 film "The Beauty Inside."
